Stephen's prayer - Part 2

Tonight Stephen blessed the food before we ate. The following is his prayer, said with eyes closed and hands folded sweetly:

Stephen: Ho-Ho, Jesus. Bite my plate. Ameen, Ameen.

Translation - Thank you Santa Claus and Jesus for the food on my plate. Amen. Amen.

It was from the heart people.

Mardi Gras in the country

The kids and I spent Mardi Gras in Tanner Williams today - no, not at any parade, but at my friend Jill's house. She has the most GORGEOUS house and we all love going out to visit her and the girls. The kids had a great time playing outside. Ansley rode a 4 wheeler for the first time today and now she is hooked. (And no, it was not a "real" 4 wheeler - just a battery powered one).

I am lucky enough to have several good friends in the world and Jill is most definitly one of them. She and I met when I worked at Wilmer Elementary a few years ago and we have been close ever since. I miss working with her so much. We were a great team - I just needed to get a job closer to home. Thank GOD for email and text - that is how we keep up with each other most of the time and there is rarely a day that goes by that we don't talk. She is basically my walking diary. I tell her pretty much everything and she does the same for me. Because we really don't run in the same circles it is a nice break to see each other and talk about the people we see and interact with the most like family.
If I needed someone at 2am to keep my kids for whatever reason, she would be at the top of my list.
She is one of the sweetest and smartest people I know and her girls and beautiful and funny. I am thankful to have her as a friend. Here are some pictures from our visit today.

Stephen spent most the day pushing the bubble lawnmower around the yard.

Stephen's prayer before dinner tonight

Jamey: Stephen, do you want to bless the food?

Stephen: God. Jesus. Amen.

That is his daddy's kind of prayer for sure!

"I not get my pizza!"

About 4:45 this morning I woke up b/c I heard Stephen crying. When I went into his room, I could tell he wasn't really awake. He kept saying, " I not get my pizza. I not get my pizza." I tried to pat his back and tell him mommy was there. He was still agitated calling for his pizza. Finally I said, "Do you want mommy to go get your pizza?" He said very clearly, "YES" so I told him ok. I walked out of the room and stood there about 4 sec before going back in to a sleeping 2 year old. I am telling you, nothing comes between this boy and his pizza. Ansley like pizza well enough, but Stephen Duke could eat pizza 3 meals a day. His other favorite food in the world is "Oatmilk" He eats a bowl every weekday morning at 5:45. And he eats every last bite!!

Last week, we had some family over for a Disney Bingo night. Here are a few shots from the evening. I also boiled shrimp that night and they turned out pretty well! Yeah for me!

Happy Free Grand Slam at Denny's Day!

Yes, today was free breakfast at Denny's from 6am to 10am. And guess who was there at 5:55am ready for their free breakfast? Stephen and Jamey. Jamey said Stephen attempted a nap in the booth by laying down a few times, but sat up and ate when the food came. He got his own little grandslam breakfast and apparently thought it was pretty good. Stephen normally gets up at 5:45 b/c he and Jamey leave so early, but today he was up at 5:15 for his free breakfast. He is on the way home now. We will see if he is dragging from his early morning adventures with his daddy! I wish I could have seen them there. :-)
