Happy Free Grand Slam at Denny's Day!

Yes, today was free breakfast at Denny's from 6am to 10am. And guess who was there at 5:55am ready for their free breakfast? Stephen and Jamey. Jamey said Stephen attempted a nap in the booth by laying down a few times, but sat up and ate when the food came. He got his own little grandslam breakfast and apparently thought it was pretty good. Stephen normally gets up at 5:45 b/c he and Jamey leave so early, but today he was up at 5:15 for his free breakfast. He is on the way home now. We will see if he is dragging from his early morning adventures with his daddy! I wish I could have seen them there. :-)

A long time ago, OK, maybe it wasn't too long ago, I hung out with a group of scraggly guys that were lovingly referred to as the "Ruff Crowd" (shut up, it's my story). Although we were a bunch of hooligans, we were the Ruff Crowd at a CHURCH, so we had to tone down our escapades a bit because we often were involuntarily integrated with normal socially responsible people. One time, we were discussing how bad something was, the particular subject of this discussion is not germane to my story, however it was stated by a voice of our group that this subject truly "Sucked @ss". This apparently offended a non-deviant young lady that overheard our topic. Her statement was something akin to "Please never use that term again, now we're going to Denny's if you want to join us." Knowing the culinary expertise that resides in that particular establishment, we immediately informed her that we would forgo using the term in the future, and that we wouldn't join her at Denny's because it "Sucked @ss".
True to our form, over the next several years, we never used that term again. When a situation called for expressing something to that extent, we simply said that "It's like Denny's", and everyone knew what we meant.
It's good to know that a vital member of the Ruff Crowd, who often would have used the phrase himself, is not allowing his principles to be compromised simply for a free plate of slop from the restaurant we so lovingly admired.
