Mardi Gras in the country

The kids and I spent Mardi Gras in Tanner Williams today - no, not at any parade, but at my friend Jill's house. She has the most GORGEOUS house and we all love going out to visit her and the girls. The kids had a great time playing outside. Ansley rode a 4 wheeler for the first time today and now she is hooked. (And no, it was not a "real" 4 wheeler - just a battery powered one).

I am lucky enough to have several good friends in the world and Jill is most definitly one of them. She and I met when I worked at Wilmer Elementary a few years ago and we have been close ever since. I miss working with her so much. We were a great team - I just needed to get a job closer to home. Thank GOD for email and text - that is how we keep up with each other most of the time and there is rarely a day that goes by that we don't talk. She is basically my walking diary. I tell her pretty much everything and she does the same for me. Because we really don't run in the same circles it is a nice break to see each other and talk about the people we see and interact with the most like family.
If I needed someone at 2am to keep my kids for whatever reason, she would be at the top of my list.
She is one of the sweetest and smartest people I know and her girls and beautiful and funny. I am thankful to have her as a friend. Here are some pictures from our visit today.

Stephen spent most the day pushing the bubble lawnmower around the yard.

Ansley and Emma riding around on the 4 wheeler.
